After 30 years in the business Regional Health Centre President and CEO Mark Hurst announced Friday he will retire at the end of August.

Hurst credits his team for the major milestones he has marked throughout his career including the opening of the new health facility on Highway 17 and the amalgamation of the North Bay General and North East Mental Health facilities.

Hurst says it's the right time to go, but he has five objectives left before August rolls around.

Board chair Phil Geden says the board has their work cut out for them in finding a suitable replacement for Hurst.

A search firm has been retained to help in the search and the board hopes to announce the new CEO sometime in May
