The TOP100 Festivals list was recently announced during the Festivals and Events Ontario Conference in Niagara Falls and once again Mattawa's Voyager Days made the list.

" The Committee is extremely proud to be named in the TOP100 festivals for the 5th consecutive year. This recognition is thanks to everyone who supports the festival, our sponsors who believe and all those getting their wristbands and enjoying all the shows and programs offered all weekend long. This accolade belongs to them," states Committee Chair Jacques Begin.

“To be nominated five times in a row is quite an honour since the list of Top100 festivals is 'pretty impressive' with some 2,500 festivals and events across Ontario every year.”

Begin says that this year marks the 15th anniversary of Mattawa Voyageur Days festival and the committee expects to see approximately 35,000 visitors and locals attending over the 4 days.

Committee organizers expect this year to follow past year's history with wristbands selling out by April.

Wristbands are on sale at area branches of Caisse Populaire and Soctiabanks as well as the Mattawa Travel Information Center.

The entertainment portion of the event 'Rock Where the Rivers Meet', which runs July 26th to the 29th, features retro bands Platinum Blonde, Toronto, Headpins, Northern Pikes and legendary artist George Thorogood & the Destroyers.
