North East OPP sign school protocol

Today representatives from local education and police agencies were on hand to sign off on the Ontario North East Region Police and School Protocol.

The protocal supports and reflects the principles of community policing and ensures a consistent approach to the way police and schools respond to school-related incidents of violence and/or criminal behaviour.

The updated protocol addresses the mandatory requirements of the Safe Schools Act.
