OPP continue to investigate fatal MVC on Highway 69

SUDBURY -Members of the Sudbury OPP remain on the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 69 south of Highway 64. At approximately 9:45 PM last evening, a snowplow travelling south bound collided with a north bound tractor trailer. The collision caused the tractor trailer to enter the northbound ditch.

The male driver of the snowplow was taken to Health Sciences north with non-life threatening injuries. The male driver of the tractor was taken to hospital with serious injuries and a male passenger in the tractor trailer was killed in the collision.

The highway was closed for several hours for the on-scene investigation and removal of the vehicles. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Update: Clean up at the scene continues. The highway is open at this time, however motorists should expect delays and lane closures for the remainder of the day, up to approximately 6:00PM this evening.
