The North Bay Municipal Heritage Committee, Discovery North Bay Museum and the City of North Bay, would like to invite all North Bay residents to join us in celebrating the 2012 Ontario Heritage Week, February 20-26th 2012. This year’s theme, chosen by the Ontario Heritage Trust, is “Defending a Nation”.

As part of the Ontario Heritage Week commemorations, Discovery North Bay Museum has curated a special exhibit that will highlight North Bay’s role in 20th Century wars.

Pieces will include uniforms, photographs and correspondence.

The exhibit will be displayed for the duration of Heritage Week.

The North Bay Municipal Heritage Committee will also unveil new Heritage Site Plaques.

Several new plaques are part of the next installment of the program that saw five plaques being placed in 2010.

The North Bay Municipal Heritage Committee encourages residents to recognize our local history.

An interactive map identifying the location of North Bay’s most important sites can be found at www.cityofnorthbay.ca/heritagetour.

The North Bay Municipal Heritage Committee is made up of community volunteers appointed by North Bay City Council.
