The water content within the snow pack throughout the watershed is close to normal for this time of year. Localized readings see North Bay having slightly above water content while the Corbeil Conservation Area and Shirley Skinner Conservation Area’s water content is slightly below normal.

It is still early in the season to predict spring runoff. Weather over the next six weeks will determine the impact of spring runoff to area water bodies and ground water resources.

The NBMCA will continue with its bi-weekly monitoring of the snow pack throughout the winter and spring of 2012. Snow is measured for depth and water equivalence at three locations in the watershed. Data for the season can be found on the NBMCA website at www.nbmca.on.ca.
