Tassimo Nabob and Gevalia brand Espresso T Discs
Joint Recall with, Kraft Canada Inc., Health Canada and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC)
Full Product Description
The recalled espresso T Discs are plastic discs filled with coffee and used in the Tassimo coffeemakers to brew espresso, cappuccino and latte drinks.
The recalled espresso T Discs were sold under the Gevalia and Nabob brands and were manufactured between August 2011 and January 2012. The recalled espresso T Discs were sold alone (8 or 16 per package) or with milk T Discs as part of Cappuccino, Latte or Skinny Latte drinks (8 espresso T Discs per package) or as part of a variety pack unit (58 T Discs per unit including 8 espresso T Discs).

Certain additional espresso T DISCs (not sold by Kraft Canada) are also being recalled in the United States.

Only espresso T Discs from the drinks listed above, with code information ending between 11213 and 12020 are included in the recall.
The code information is printed on a side panel of the package and on the foil lid of the espresso T Disc.
The recalled espresso T Discs were sold in Canada and the United States. No other T Discs are affected by this recall.
Hazard Identified
Due to a manufacturing defect, the recalled espresso T Discs can become clogged, and during brewing or upon opening of the brewing mechanism, hot liquid and/or coffee grounds could spray onto consumers and bystanders, posing a burn hazard.
There have been 21 reports from consumers in Canada (15) and in the United States (6) of hot liquid and/or coffee grounds spraying onto consumers and bystanders, including 4 reports of second-degree burns.
Health Canada has received no reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of the T Discs.
Corrective Action
Consumers should stop using the recalled espresso T Discs and contact the Tassimo Recall Website or Tassimo hotline to obtain a refund.

Number Sold
Approximately 4 million packages of the affected espresso T Discs were produced (Canada - 1.9 million and the United States - 2.1 million).
Time Period Sold
The affected T Discs were sold at retailers across Canada and the United States, and on various websites including through www.tassimo.ca from August 2011 through February 2012.
