Sturgeon Falls man dies in snowmobile crash north of Hagar

Hagar - On January 28, 2012 at approximately 4:00 PM the OPP was called to a motorized snow vehicle (MSV) collision 25 kilometres north of Hagar.

The OPP investigation determined that a group of three snowmobile riders were traveling along OFSC trail D 104 when the lead snowmobile left the trail and struck a tree.

The lead MSV operator, 47 year old Allan N. S. Bell died in the crash.

Bell had recently moved to Sturgeon Falls from the Windsor area.

An OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator (TTCI) is assisting in the investigation. It was snowing at the time of the collision and speed was a factor. It is not believed that alcohol a factor in the crash.

A post mortem examination is scheduled for January 30, 2012 in Sudbury.
