Cocaine seized during traffic stop

On January 18th, at approximately 4:27 pm D/Cst’s Reaume & Parker checked a vehicle in the area of First & Fraser Street in North Bay.

Officers observed the driver acting in a suspicious manner, and subsequently seized a baggie of cocaine the driver dropped while attempting to hand it to a female passenger in the vehicle.

The 23-year-old driver was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A quantity of cocaine was found in the suspects pocked and subsequent investigation turned up a can with additional cocaine and digital scales at an acquaintance’s residence. A total of 26 grams of cocaine was seized.

Follow-up investigation uncovered an assault & threatening of an acquaintance.

Dwight Arnel Joly, of Second Avenue East, North Bay, is being held in custody pending a bail hearing; charged with Assault, Possession for the Purpose, 2-counts of Failure to Comply with an Undertaking and Uttering Threats.
