City police investigating attempted car jacking

At 10:30PM Wed 11Jan a woman while looking at her cell phone walked to her vehicle that was parked in a parking lot on Main St E. She had entered the vehicle when her door was opened and a male tried to get into the driver’s seat, assaulting and threatening her in the process.

When the woman started to scream the man fled on foot westbound towards Fisher St. The assailant is described as; an older white male, 5’6”to 5’8”, thin build, dark grey hair approximately ¾” long and thinning on top, full messy grey beard, wearing a bomber style blue and white checker jacket and blue jeans.

Cst’s Steve Carlton and Greg Randall are investigating.

The North Bay Police wish to remind the public about being aware of your surroundings and cognizant of who is around when going to your vehicle, particularly at night.
