The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) released the first snow pack information for the watershed today as part of NBMCA’s Flood Forecasting and Warning Program. Snow levels and water content are above normal for this time of year. The snowpack is expected to reduce over the weekend with above zero temperatures and rain being forecasted.

The NBMCA will continue with its bi-weekly monitoring of the snow pack throughout the winter and into spring of 2012. Snow is measured for depth and water equivalence at three locations in the watershed. Data for the season can be found on the NBMCA website at www.nbmca.on.ca.
