A musical tribute for CFB North Bay's diamond anniversary

Canadian Forces Base (CFB) North Bay will host an evening of music and song for the community of North Bay. The event is a musical tribute in celebration of the CFB Diamond Anniversary in North Bay. The festivity will take place on Saturday, November 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Centre, 150 Main Street East. It promises a showcase of musical talent including Broadway, Pop, Ceremonial and Big Band performed by the internationally renowned 22 Wing Concert Band, the 8 Wing Canadian Forces Base Trenton Pipes and Drums and members of the 8 Wing Canadian Forces Base Trenton Concert Band. This musical tribute to the last 60 years is an event for the entire family to come out and enjoy.

In addition to the live entertainment guests may enjoy a static display in the gallery featuring historical exhibits including a recent artifact on loan to the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence from the Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa. For the first time a Semi Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) console and its replacement, an Operations Display Console (ODC), from 22 Wing’s Underground Complex will be on public display side-by-side. The Wing Heritage Officer will be on hand to answer questions on it and other items on display. Rounding out the pageantry will be the Royal Regiment of Canada dressed in their ceremonial scarlet’s who will be on sentry detail in the lobby. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are going fast complimentary with a limit of four per person and available at the Capitol Centre Box Office.

Please do not forget that contributions of non-perishable items to the Coach 4 Food initiative in support of the North Bay Food Bank and cash donations to the Seeing More Clearly North Bay MRI Fund will be accepted at the door.
