Jane (our Dragon Boat) is safely tucked away for the winter. We would like to take this opportunity to thank; Brandon Brown of A&S Towing for helping us by towing the boat to storage. We would also like to thank Chris Cuthbertson of the North Bay Fire Hall #1 and his crew; Captain Mark Tourville, Jeff Miners, Gord Mulcahey and Keith Rutledge for your assistance. Special mention as well to; Harry and Jean Bursey at Warren Equipment. The help and support we receive on an annual basis from these community partners is phenomenal!

We would also like to thank the Canadian Forces Base for allowing us to keep our dragon boat at your dock on Trout Lake again this year. Your continued support for the Warriors is also admirable, thank you so much.

The Warriors of Hope had another great showing this year at the CIBC Run for the Cure. We raised an outstanding $8,400 this year, which is the most we have ever raised! Congratulations Warriors!!! We received an award over the summer from the Run for the Cure Committee for raising the most funds for a group over the past few years. The run for the cure is one of the many breast cancer survivor and other community fundraising events and initiatives the warriors are proud to support.

We would like to thank our fellow Warriors who are part of the Weed Warriors; Margaret Kervin (Garden Captain), Katherine Beckett, Chris MacMillan, Ethel Black, Shelley Loponen, Kathleen MacDonell and Bridge McTavish . To quote one of the Weed Warriors, Katherine Beckett about her experience; “There is nothing better than getting in touch with Mother Nature to remind us to remember those who are never far from our thoughts who have lost their battle or are continuing to do so”. You all did an outstanding job of planting and maintaining the garden of hope at the waterfront this season. It was absolutely beautiful and a great addition to the other beautiful gardens at the waterfront. Thank you so much for your time and expertise, you are awesome!

If you are a breast cancer survivor and wondering what our team is all about, this is a great time of year to join. You will have an opportunity to attend meetings, do some strength training and get to know the team! If you are interested call our team captain; Chris MacMillan at;705-474-9076 or check out our website at; www.warriorsofhope.com

We sincerely hope that you have a wonderful, safe fall with family and friends!
