The Near North District School Board first, wishes to thank the people of Parry Sound for their patience while a site was being negotiated for the new elementary school. We’re happy to announce that the new site for the school is the Tudhope site located on Beatty Street. The new school will replace William Beatty and Victory public schools.

Principal of Victory Public School, Julie Beaudoin said “We are forging ahead with our new school building! We are very excited to be moving this project forward. This modern building will help support our students in their pursuit of excellence in their academic journeys. This new school will be a positive addition to the community of Parry Sound. We welcome the adventure we are about to embark on.”

Jody Mayhew, Principal of William Beatty Public School said “The Staff and I are thrilled about this announcement. The new school will offer our students many new learning opportunities both inside and outside the building. The large open space is an ideal setting for the building of the new school. This decision is welcome news for our entire elementary school community.”

The process now begins for rezoning, design work, public meetings and a site plan. The Board looks forward to working with Mitchell Architects Incorporated.
We now look forward to moving ahead and having the “shovel” in the ground next summer.
