Pull over to the right when emergency lights are activated

ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS - Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police would like to remind motorists to slow down and pull over to the right for emergency vehicles with their lights and/or siren activated. Emergency vehicles include police, fire and ambulance that are on their way to an emergency call.

Consequences for not pulling over for an emergency vehicle with their lights/siren activated could include a fine up to $110.00 upon conviction.

Failure to move over or slow down for an emergency vehicle stopped on the side of a highway can result in a fine up to $2000 and three demerit points.

Remember: “Every second counts when going to an emergency and any delay can be critical”.
