Over 210 people attended last evening’s “Bell Evening of Excellence Awards” at the Best Western. This event is one of the larger events put on by the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce and the sponsors of the Annual Small Business Week.

For this year’s Bell Evening of Excellence, 29 nominees were honoured at the dinner and 10 awards were presented.

The categories and award winners this year are as follows:

New Business of the Year – Le Bon Marché
Environment Award – Northgate Shopping Centre
Not For Profit – Yes! Employment Services
Innovation Award – Cementation for the Chilean Mine Rescue
Young Professional of the Year – Kiera Hardie of Opera Café
Business Student of the Year – Leanne Tammi
Employee of the Year – Crystal Thompson, Hampton Inn
Success Story – Stix & Stones
Small Business of the Year – Cintra May’s
Business of the Year (16+) – Evans Bertrand Hill Wheeler Architecture Inc.

This is a national week dedicated to promoting, celebrating and the development of small business in Canada.
