Sixteen Aiming for the Top Elizabeth II scholarships have been awarded to graduates of Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord’s three secondary schools for the 2011-2012 school year. The bursaries are worth up to 3500 $ a year for four years for students who maintain a minimum 80 per cent average during their postsecondary studies. The recipients are:

“We are very proud of these students’ achievements and we extend our congratulations to their parents and the school personnel who have supported them in their studies”, stated Cynthia Roveda, Director of Education at the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord. “To maintain a high average in a variety of subjects, these students have had to demonstrate a superior level of bilingualism, both orally and in writing. This is quite an accomplishment for these youths, some of whom have grown up in a unilingual French or English home”, remarked Mrs. Roveda.

In total this year, 14,205 Ontario students have received this financial aid to pursue their studies.
