NBPS teaming up to keep the city safe and clean

The NBPS Environmental Committee will host an Environmental Cleanup session on October 1, 2011 from 1300 – 1500 hours. Members of the Police Service will meet volunteers at the following 2 locations:

Marshall Park area at Silver Birches school – 1300 hrs
Airport Hill at Lucky 13 – 1300 hrs

Members of the general public are welcome to meet our members at the aforementioned locations if they are interested in assisting.

Students from area High Schools in need of volunteer hours may attend one of the 2 locations and see the NBPS team leader in Hi Vis Yellow to volunteer. After the clean up you will be supplied with a certificate and can use this towards your community hours.

The committee has a box of work gloves (you may bring your own if you wish) and if you have a litter pick up tool please bring that as well.

You will not be required to pick up hazardous/dangerous litter; however, you will be asked to direct your team leader to the danger site to arrange for appropriate disposal of these items.
