Action that peeled the pavement off East Side Mario’s parking lot was the name of the game at the 9th Annual Power Play for Easter Seals Kids presented by Pembridge Insurance Company today.

In an amazing show of community support, six teams played ball hockey to help score $13,271.40 for children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities.

The Top Fundraising Team, Ladies In Flight, with their coach, Cory Potter, an Easter Seals youth, won top honors again raising an amazing $3,217.10 and the North Bay Fire Department won their title back as the Tournament Champions. Easter Seals child Neil Melnyk was on hand to cheer on the teams, especially his Mom and Dad’s, Tammy and Ron Melnyk, with their team, Neil’s Avengers..

“It was a great day for Easter Seals kids, and the teams, sponsors and volunteers made it all possible,” says Roxanne Kneer, Development Officer, Northeastern Region, for Easter Seals Ontario.

Easter Seals Ontario was founded in 1922 with a vision to create a better life for children and youth with physical disabilities.
