Three people charged in kidnapping case Update

Further to the Kidnapping investigation released on Aug 23rd: a total of 25 charges have been laid to date that relates to 5 men and 3 women.

The charges include kidnapping, forcible confinement, aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, extortion, procuring, possession of substance, trafficking of substance, administer noxious substance, and weapon offences. Five men and one woman are still in custody. Two women have a court date. The investigation is continuing.

On August 22nd, 2011 members of the North Bay Police Service attended at a Galt St residence after receiving information that a young woman was in the residence, being held against her will.

Police located the woman and arrested three individuals later, charged with forcibly confining the woman. Police are aware that these individuals are involved in the drug subculture.

Tyler Porter, 20 yrs old is charged with; Forcible Confinement.

Kendra Romain, 21 yrs old is charged with; Forcible Confinement and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Wayne Mitchell, 31 yrs old is charged with; Forcible Confinement and Extortion.

Police are seeking to arrest John Porter, 51 years old for Kidnapping, Forcible Confinement, Procuring, Extortion and Pointing a Firearm. He is described as being 168cm (6’1) and 68 kgs (149 lbs). He has grey hair and blue eyes and is known to wear a goatee.
