Majority of CSPNE students and parents are satisfied

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) encourages and fosters continuous feedback from members of its community to gauge the efficiency of its
implementation of services that have a direct impact on the well-being and success of its students. The CSPNE is therefore happy to share the results of a survey taken by grade 5 to grade 12 students and their parents earlier this year. The survey was administered by the Ministry of Education of Ontario in conjunction with the Centre canadien de leadership en évaluation (CLÉ).

Based on the reported rate of satisfaction, one can conclude that, as far as school ambiance and hospitality are concerned, the majority of students and parents are satisfied. Following is an overview of the survey.

* the school staff inspires a taste for learning among its students (78% of students, 94% of parents)
* the school promotes respect for others (87% of students, 92% of parents)
* students and parents feel welcomed at the school (87% of students, 94% of parents)
* the school encourages parent participation in school activities (92%)

Results also show that with respect to the Francophone culture, the majority of students and parents are satisfied.

* the school promotes the Francophone culture (93% of students, 96% of parents)
* the school gives students the necessary tools to become proficient in French (92% of students, 96% of parents)
* the school offers a variety of activities (82% of students, 86% of parents)

With regards to the degree of satisfaction with the school, the survey shows that the majority of students and parents are satisfied.

* availability of school staff (82% of students, 95% of parents)
* quality of education (83% of students, 91% of parents)
* the way in which parents are greeted by the principal (95% of parents)
* communications received from the school (97% of parents)

Concerning the overall appreciation, the majority of students (81%) and parents (90%) would recommend their school to others.

Mr. Robert Poirier, Chairman of the Board, said that he was delighted with the results of this survey.

"The high degree of satisfaction of our students and parents clearly demonstrates that services offered by our French language public schools meet the expectations and needs of our school communities."
