OPP investigating theft of copper from the Mattawa Public Works yard

Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently
investigating the theft of copper from the Mattawa Public Works yard.

Sometime between August 3 and August 9, 2011, the storage shed located at the Mattawa Public Works yard was broken into. Removed from the property were a number of copper and brass fittings as well as flexible copper line. The items were removed from the property utilizing access to Mill Street. Considering the weight of the items taken, it is believed the culprits had a pick up truck or a trailer waiting. The value is estimated in excess of $5,000.
