City transit riders can now plan trips online

North Bay Transit has partnered with Google Transit to offer riders online trip planning service using Google Maps.

Google Transit enables riders to generate specific route information without having to sort through timetables. Riders simply enter the destination, date and time of departure and the trip planner provides three options, showing transit routes, travel time and the number of bus transfers for each option. Google Maps also provides walking directions to the nearest transit stop.

Google Maps can be accessed from a desktop computer or a mobile phone such as an iPhone or Blackberry by visiting maps.google.com. Riders can link to the North Bay Transit Trip Planner through the City’s website at www.cityofnorthbay.ca. Simply click on the front page Trip Planner icon and enter your current location and destination to get travel directions.

North Bay residents are encouraged to use the Transit Trip Planner service for step-by-step travel options.
