Duke Street man charged after failing to stop for police

At approximately 2:10 am this morning, Cst. Andrew Keating of the North Bay Police, while on a routine patrol observed a vehicle on John Street and attempted to stop the vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

The driver of the pick-up truck refused to stop for Police and was pursued a short distance before he abandoned the vehicle on the bicycle path on Metcalf street and fled on foot.

A 47-year-old male was apprehended shortly after 3:00 am on Lakeshore Drive.

Leonard Hollett, of the 200 Block of Duke Street East is being held in custody pending a bail hearing, charged with:

- Possession of Stolen Property

- Fail to Stop for Police

- Drive While Under Suspension

- Unauthorized use of Plate

- No Insurance
