Callander exploring new ways to deal with wastewater system

The Municipality of Callander is growing and that is good news on all counts but one -- the rapid growth has caused capacity issues with the municipality’s wastewater system.

Mayor Hec Lavigne says instead of following the regular avenue to address the issue Callander Council elected to test a new technology that will not only save taxpayers substantial money, but also is a green initiative.

The technology, provided by WCI Environmental Solutions, will be tested for the next 11 months and based on results council will move forward accordingly.
