Real change will save jobs in the North, not empty promises: NDP

Timmins - When it came to standing up for jobs in Northern Ontario, Tim Hudak has been missing in action, says NDP MPP Gilles Bisson.

"Northern families need to know that jobs will be there for the future," said Bisson. "We've heard slick promises of 'review' before. New Democrats are making a concrete commitment: we won't send our money out of province if it can create jobs here in Ontario."

Hudak's northern platform only commits to reviewing the Northland decision, not reversing it. Bisson noted that only a Buy Ontario policy would ensure that Northland jobs remain in North Bay.

"People want concrete steps to protect jobs. Vague promises might fly on Bay Street but it doesn't work for North Bay," said Bisson.
