TORONTO - The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is voluntarily recalling certain types of Oral-B mouthwash in Canada.

The specific products being recalled are: Oral B Anti-Cavity Dental Rinse- Alcohol Free (NPN 02129930) and Oral-B Anti-Bacterial with Fluoride - Alcohol Free Daily Use Mouthrinse (DIN 02130823).

The company said it is taking this precautionary step after detecting out of specification microbial levels in some products produced at one of its contract manufacturing facilities.

P&G is removing all affected product from store shelves and has informed Health Canada.

If present, the microbial level poses virtually no risk to healthy people. However, people with severely weakened immune systems, such as those with cystic fibrosis may be more susceptible to adverse health effects.

Consumers should discard the affected product and contact P&G via these numbers for a refund : 1-800-566-7252 or 1-800-56-ORALB, Monday to Friday between 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
