CAW Local 103 Vice President Andy Mitchell spent the better part of Sunday faxing of letters of support to the Premier of Ontario Dalton McGuinty and the leaders Ontario’s official opposition parties.

Mitchell, along with Mike Boissonneault (painter) and Lynn Blunt (clerk) were collecting signatures on letters to the Premier to overturn the Metrolinx decision at the waterfront during Canada Day celebrations. He says the effort was a success at the community rallied and the trio left the waterfront with more than a thousand letters.

“My hats of to Mike and Lynn for taking the day to do this,” he tells BayToday.

“Community support was overwhelming, people from all 4 corners of the province were outraged and could not believe this was happening and signed the petition.”

“We even had a couple from Quebec signed saying they would not want their tax dollars spent this way.”

A copy of the letter is attached in the photo gallery and both the General Chairperson's Association and CAW Union urge residents to sign and fax a copy to the leaders of all three parties.
