UL warns of potentially hazardous compact fluorescent lamps
UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is notifying consumers, retailers and distributors that compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) manufactured by Taean Co. Ltd., may pose a risk of shock and fire hazard. The product does not comply with UL's safety requirements and is not eligible to bear the UL Mark.

Name of Product: Compact Fluorescent Lamp, model P17713
Number of Units: Unknown quantity

Manufacturer: Taean Co Ltd, Taean-Gun ChungChong-Nambdo, Republic of Korea
Dates of Manufacture: April 2006 through April 2007.
Hazard: The lamp may overheat and melt the enclosure, exposing live parts -- posing a risk of fire and/or electric shock.

Identification:
On the product: The enclosure on the base of the product has an unauthorized UL Mark and one of the following date codes: DA06, LA07 or DA07, Model P17713, cULus Listed 60GJ Self-Ballasted Lamp.
