The North East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is investing more than $8 million dollars in upgrades to local hospitals to ensure they offer high quality care to local residents. Infrastructure upgrade funding is being provided to all Northeastern Ontario hospitals, including:

• North Bay Regional Health Centre $386,750
• West Nipissing General Hospital $203,000
• Blind River District Health Centre $203,000
• Lady Dunn Health Centre $211,750
• Sault Area Hospital $988,325
• Anson General Hospital $211,750
• Bingham Memorial Hospital $211,750
• Chapleau Health Services $211,750
• Englehart and District Hospital $211,750
• Hôpital Notre-Dame Hospital $586,750
• Hornepayne Community Hospital $211,750
• Kirkland and District Hospital $211,750
• Lady Minto Hospital $211,750
• Sensenbrenner Hospital $211,750
• Smooth Rock Falls Hospital $211,750
• Temiskaming Hospital $211,750
• Timmins & District Hospital $211,750
• Espanola General Hospital $203,000
• Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital $367,500
• Manitoulin Health Center $406,000
• St. Joseph’s General Hospital $203,000
• St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre of Sudbury $183,750

Hospitals will use these funds for structural upgrades, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems improvements, alongside other updates. The upgrades will ensure that hospitals comply with health and safety standards, and offer an efficient and safe environment to provide patients the best possible care.

The upgrade funding is provided through the government’s Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund, which allows hospitals to decide where to invest the money and lets them proceed quickly with projects.
