Power has been restored to all Near North District School Board schools affected by a power outage today. South Shore Education Centre and South River Public School will reopen for tomorrow, Thursday, June 2, 2011.

In addition, power has been restored to the following schools:
 Phelps Central School
 Sundridge Centennial Public School
 M.T. Davidson Public School

Update on Schools Affected by Power Outage
At this time, power has not been restored to South Shore Education Centre and South River Public School.
Power is not expected to be restored until later this evening.

In addition, the following schools have also been affected by a power outage and power is not expected to be
restored until the evening:

Phelps Central School
Sundridge Centennial Public School
M.T. Davidson Public School

It is hoped that power will be restored this evening so that affected schools can open tomorrow. An update
will be conveyed once power has been restored. Parents, caregivers and staff are urged to continue to consult
their media outlets, the Board website at www.nearnorthschools.ca and automated voice messages sent home by phone for this information.

Due to a power outage, South River Public School and South Shore Education Centre are closed for the day.

An update on the re-opening of the schools will be conveyed through the media later today.

Power is expected to be restored by 4:00 p.m. Parents, caregivers and staff are urged to consult their media outlets or the Board website at www.nearnorthschools.ca for this information.
