Val Caron man faces drug charges following traffic stop

BONFIELD TOWNSHIP - On Sunday, May 29th, 2011 at approximately 10p.m., a North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrol on Highway 17 in Bonfield Township when he stopped a motor vehicle for a highway traffic act infraction.

The traffic stop resulted in the officer locating over $47,000 of suspected marihuana. The driver, Jameson FLETCHER, 27 years old of Val Caron, Ontario is charged with:

- Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - over 30 grams as per Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) s. 4(1); and with

- Possession for the Purpose Schedule II under 3 kg as per CDSA s. 5(2).

FLETCHER is schedule to appear for court in North Bay on June 28th, 2011.
