Updating fatal motor vehichle collision on Hwy17 at Champlain Park

Mattawa OPP along with the Forensic Identification Unit and Technical Traffic Investigators responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident that happened at 3:40pm the 28May2011.

The MVA happened on Hwy#17, 100meters west of the entrance to Champlain Park.

OPP investigators determined that an eastbound vehicle driven by 18 year old Damon SOULIERRE of Pembroke Ontario entered the westbound lane and struck a westbound tractor trailer unit driven by 47 year old Plamen SEYKOV of Pointe Claire Quebec.

The male driver of the car, Damon Soulierre was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no passengers in either vehicle at the time of the accident.

A post mortem is scheduled for Wednesday the 01Jun2011.
