The spotlight is on the City as a delegation from South China visits Canadore College to talk education.

The delegation consists of five distinguished representatives from Guizhou Normal College in Guiyang, China and is led by college president Yuan Huimin. They will be at the College and meeting with city officials on May 30.

The main purpose of the visit is to explore educational opportunities between the two institutions in particular, the development of a student exchange model between Canadore and Guizhou. Ten students from each institution will get a four-week cultural experience of a lifetime taking a portion of their studies in a foreign country for four weeks beginning this fall.

Other areas of interest that will be focused on during the visit include Canadore's culinary and business programming.

"This is an excellent opportunity to put the College and the City on the international map. We are so pleased to welcome our friends from Guizhou and have them leave as our partners in education. This visit is the first of many that will highlight Canadore as being an educational leader on the world stage," said George Burton, President of Canadore College.

Canadore College is an approved education institute by the Chinese Government in Beijing.

Students come to Canadore from all over the world including China, India, Malaysia, and Africa.

Canadore provides access to over 65 full-time quality programs, driven and supported by outstanding faculty and student services and boasts the highest graduation rate amongst the 24 public colleges in Ontario.
