Ontario Northland and the Canadian Auto Workers Local 103 announced that they have reached a tentative labour agreement.

"After extended negotiations, we are very happy to have reached a tentative agreement with the employees represented by the Canadian Auto Workers union," said Corina Moore, Chief Operating Officer and lead negotiator. "It is clear that the CAW understands the economic situation of Ontario Northland and is doing their part to help ensure our success."

"We would like to thank our membership for their strong show of support for our union and bargaining committee," said Brian Kelly, President of CAW Local 103.

CAW Local 103 represents members who live and work throughout Ontario Northland's Northeastern Ontario service territory. The union represents over 400 Ontario Northland employees ranging from clerical, on board service, shop craft, hotel staff, as well as, stores and yard office staff.

Details of the three year tentative agreement will be presented to the CAW Local 103 membership at upcoming ratification meetings.

"This significant agreement with the CAW is a milestone for Ontario Northland labour relations and clearly demonstrates the high level of commitment of both parties to work together through challenging times to sustain the organization for the future," stated Paul Goulet, President and Chief Executive Officer.
