Imagine how you’d feel if a worker was injured in your workplace. On top of the pain and emotional damage, there’s the expense and the loss of productivity. As if that’s not bad enough, you land in court facing charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

A mock trial in North Bay on May 26th aims to boost awareness of workplace health and safety. Taking the fictional story of a company and supervisor facing charges after a young worker is injured, the event will demonstrate
what’s involved in a trial, and why no company would want to be in that position. The mock trial coincides with a
blitz on young worker safety initiated by the Ministry of Labour and taking place across the province.

The mock trial is organized by a volunteer committee of health and safety professionals, and is free for anyone to
attend. There will be an opportunity to network and pick up information about how to improve health and safety
on the job. To register, contact Workplace Safety North at 705‐474‐7233 or [email protected].
