Kindergarten in the Near North District School Board is a two-year program for children just beginning their education. It is alive with learning centres, opportunities to explore and talk about discoveries, creative materials, books, letters and words, and much more. The program is rich with opportunities that encourage each child to think, plan and do with growing independence. The Near North District School Board welcomes all students to this very successful program.
Near North District School Board elementary schools continue to hold orientation evenings for families with children who are preparing to enter kindergarten in the Fall. Families will have an opportunity to connect with kindergarten teachers, resource staff and community support agencies and will receive activity bags full of supplies and useful information to help prepare children for their first learning experience in school.
A list of orientation evenings is available on the Board’s website at www.nearnorthschools.ca. Families who were not able to attend orientation sessions held at schools earlier this month are not too late to register their child! Parents can contact their local Near North school or visit the Board’s website for more information.
