Garden Village man charged with flight from police

At 3:55 AM 17 May a suspicious vehicle at Sherbrook St and Main St attracted the attention of North Bay Police.

When police attempted to stop and check the vehicle in a parking lot between Main St and McIntyre St East, the vehicle accelerated west on McIntyre St to Wyld St. The vehicle then travelled north on Wyld St where the driver failed to make a left turn onto Fifth and collided with a hydro pole. The driver exited the car and fled but was arrested nearby after a short foot chase.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from a Beattie St residence about an hour earlier. Adam Beaucage 20yrs of Garden Village has been charged with Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, and Flight from Police and Fail to Remain. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

Damage to the vehicle has been estimated at approximately $2000. Damage to the hydro pole was the pole support system and North Bay Hydro was on scene stabilizing the pole within half hour.
