Pet lovers generous during PAW for charity event

Pet lovers put their money where their paws are and visited local Pet Valu and Bosley's Pet Food Plus stores
nationwide, to purchase a one dollar PAW for charity.

Customers donated pet food, litter, toys and other pet supplies at bins in-store, for various animal-related organizations including provincial SPCAs, local shelters and rescues. Nationwide, Pet Valu and Bosley's Pet Food Plus met their fundraising goal and raised $250,000 in cash and product donation.

"We're grateful for the support of pet lovers across the country," says Julie Johnston, vice president, marketing, Pet Valu.

"Their generous donations will mean a better life for so many homeless animals. The first annual PAW initiative is a definitive campaign that reflects Pet Valu's commitment to animal welfare and providing the best products, services and expert information to Canadians and their pets for responsible pet ownership."
