As of 12:18 PM EDT Wednesday 20 April 2011, Environment Canada issued the following snowfall warning for the North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa - West Nipissing - French River areas.

*****

..Snow becoming intermittent later this afternoon..

A low pressure system currently centred near Lake Ontario will track off to the east by tonight. Snow and local blowing snow associated with the low will become lighter and more intermittent this afternoon. The occasional light snow will then end overnight.

Snowfall totals of 10 to locally 15 cm are expected. The snowfall warning will likely be ended later this afternoon as the heavier snow tapers off.

Meanwhile dangerous winter driving conditions due to accumulating snow on untreated roads and local whiteout conditions from blowing snow are expected. Motorists should adjust travel plans accordingly.
