Local film production wins Silver Palm Award

The short film, The House, has been awarded the Silver Palm Award at this years Mexican International film Festival to be held in Baja Mexico May 27-29.
The short film, The House, has been awarded the Silver Palm Award at this years Mexican International film Festival to be held in Baja Mexico May 27-29. The House was one of only twenty five films chosen from hundreds submitted from several countries around the world. The judges felt that “ the film was excellent and deserved outstanding recognition”.

The short film was produced as an ACTRA Co-op in North Bay in June of 2010 and featured Jim Calarco, Lewis Hodgson, Claire Calarco, Danielle Baker and Abby Calarco. Patrick Gilbert worked as the Cinematographer and co-incidently has been nominated for a Best Cinematography award at the Music and Film in Motion Festival that will be held April 30th.Kevin Hoffman was the Art director and Film Editor and Heather Cairns Hodgson was the Assistant Art Director.The House was written and directed by Jim Calarco.

The House is a co-production with Pair of Ducks Productions,a local production company that also won an Award at Cinefest 2008.
