Powassan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a suspicious home improvement incident on Wednesday, April 13th, 2011.

An elderly man was approached at his residence and convinced by two unknown males after being invited in and permitted to do an inspection of his attic that he required insulation. The elderly man was further convinced to pay $1,400 in cash for the work provided. Investigation revealed that a light dusting of insulation was done and they didn’t provide a bill, a contract or any type of paperwork.

The identity of the workers and company is unknown. The only identifier is that they were travelling in a white cube van towing a white trailer.
