North Bay area residents can reach out to assist the devastated people of Japan; with a celebration of music and fundraising later this month.

“Music & Relief for Japan” will take place at 100 Georges on Friday, April 15th, beginning at 9pm. The cost is $10 per person, with prizes and raffles as part of the evening. Music is to be provided courtesy of popular local recording artists “Jake & The Fundamentals.”
North Bay resident Kelly Fortier says she was moved into taking action after viewing the heartbreaking images of people struggling to recover from not only a natural disaster, but a man-made nuclear one as well. She felt a need to do something to help.

“I know people can donate through many charitable organizations and on-line, but I wanted to do something that allowed people here, in North Bay, to physically come together and celebrate the bravery and resilience of the Japanese,” she explains. All proceeds will be sent to The Canadian Red Cross and Fortier says she’ll announce and publish the totals as soon as the numbers ready.
