Police release name of deceased person in Main St. fire

Following a post-mortem examination the North Bay Police Service has released the name of the person who passed away in the fire at 387 Main Street West on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.



Following a post-mortem examination the North Bay Police Service has released the name of the person who passed away in the fire at 387 Main Street West on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.

The post-mortem examination was conducted by the coroner in Toronto and based on this examination, it has been determined that the tenant died from smoke inhalation.

The deceased person has been identified as the tenant 62-year-old David Michaliski.

Detective Constable Jason Long tells BayToday that the most probable source of ignition was a lit cigarette.

Long says there are a few more building tenants to speak with but they consider the case to now be closed.
