Nipissing University Physical and Health Education Students (NUPHES) represented Nipissing University and the City of North Bay in London Ontario this past weekend.

From Thursday March 17th until Sunday March 20th, the Nipissing students competed against over 20 teams from Universities across Canada in the Kin Games which represent kinesiology, human kinetics, and physical education programs at from a variety of Universities across Canada.

Over the four days, the teams competed in a variety of academic and athletic activities. This was Nipissing University's inaugural year in the Games, and they made a quite an impact by placing 3rd overall. The Nipissing students had to work extra hard to compete against much larger schools from across Canada like: St. Francis Xavier, Queens, and University of British Columbia.

"I couldn't be more proud of our program." says Matt Adamson, President of the NUPHES. "In our first year we proved to the entire country that we can compete with larger institutions."

The NUPHES had been planning for the Kin Games since October and held many practices to ensure they showed up with a spirited, cohesive team.

The Physical Education students are very proud to represent Nipissing University, and the City of North Bay with a 3rd place finish in this prestigious event.
