Spokesman Randy Brousseau says union members have decided that they need to do more out in the community and thought the soup kitchen was a good first start.

“Well at Christmas a lot of employers a lot of other unions a lot of other people make donations to charities and we all feel good about that, so we said hey we’re not doing enough we need to get out there a little bit more. the gathering place is a vital need in the community providing excellent meals for people in need.

“So we felt we had to come out not just at Christmas but throughout the year. So we had chosen today to come out to help out at the gathering place, so we physically came out with a group of us to help out and we also provided a donation to the gathering place of $3000.”
