Body found near Elk Lake

James Township – Ontario Provincial Police are currently at the scene of a death investigation in James Township, near Elk Lake.

On March 17th, 2011 OPP and EMS were dispatched to the occurrence where a male party was located deceased.

As a result of the information learned at the scene, the OPP have initiated an investigation into the death of a 32 year old man from the Thunder Bay area. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time pending the notification of Next of Kin.

A post mortem examination is scheduled today (March 18th, 2011) in Sudbury, Ontario.

OPP Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Paul McCRICKARD. Other Units assisting with the investigation include; OPP Crime Unit members from North East and North West Regions and members of the Forensic Identification Unit, North Bay.
