It has been 12 days now since the last sighting of the missing 20 year-old Temiscaming local. This is a plea to the public to come forward with any information possible that could help this ongoing investigation.

Leading the search is Detective Constable Paul Brewer, and has been conducting the investigation since the family reported him missing on March 7. Brewer says they have no strong leads yet.

“We have received tips, and like any tip we investigated them,” explains Brewer. “At this point we’re keeping our options open, because there’s very little (information) pushing the case forward right now to indicate what’s happened here.”

“I would like to indicate that the family has been putting up posters around town, and been very cooperative and helpful in trying to find Luke. The entire family has been active in this and we are keeping daily contact.”

There is no evidence suggesting that this is a case of foul play, and is remaining as only a missing persons investigation. Luke was last seen by security cameras heading west-bound in front of Cecil’s Eatery (he never entered the establishment) on the night of March 4 shortly before midnight. Luke was in town visiting some friends that night, and his jacket and cell phone were found at a friend’s apartment located on Sherbrooke Street - 600 block. The tenants of the residence were questioned, and no conclusive information was discovered.

His physical description is Caucasian male, approximately 5’8” and 150 lbs. The night he was last seen, he was wearing a dark jacket, as well as dark pants and shoes. The dark jacket was recovered at the Sherbrooke residence. He has medium length brown hair, rarely clean shaven, braces on his upper teeth and has been known to sometimes wear glasses.

Brewer says it is a difficult situation as they have no prominent leads.

“The case is wide open, which is difficult because we have no direction at this point to go. There’s a lot of information and areas to cover, and different angles to look at, and it’s taking time for those reasons.”

The family says that it is out of character for Luke to not have contact with his family – they have not heard a word from him since March 4. It has been disclosed that Luke did not have a job and was not attending school at the time, however, Brewer notes that Joly-Durocher is known by many in his community and therefore despite the fact he was not working or attending school they still have many people to contact and interview.

Members of the North Bay Police Service have been canvassing the highlighted areas, conducting searches, and interviewing locals with any possible information on the last known whereabouts of Luke.
