2nd Avenue woman charged with assault with a weapon

On 5th Mar at 2:40PM a man who was assisting a person to move had parked his vehicle blocking a driveway on 4th Ave W. It is alleged that a woman became enraged when she arrived wanting to visit the person whose driveway was blocked.

She subsequently slapped the man in the face, and then punched him in the mouth. He started to call the police and stood in front of her vehicle so she couldn’t leave. It is alleged that she kept bumping him with the vehicle so he sat on the hood. She accelerated down the road swerving side to side which threw him off.

April Thomas 48yrs of 2nd Ave was arrested and charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She is to appear in court on 19Apr 2011. Cst Scott Buchanan is investigating.
