..Some snow tonight and Friday and a snowstorm threatening for Saturday over areas north of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay..

*****

Snow has enveloped areas around Lake Superior compliments of a trough of low pressure approaching the Great Lakes from the west. Most regions around the lake may expect close to 5 centimetres of snow tonight except 5 to 10 near Sault Ste Marie.

It is expected to gradually taper off in most areas on Friday except in the Manitoulin, Sudbury and North Bay region where snow or a mixture of snow and rain will persist. Several additional Centimetres are possible in parts of this area.

A more potent disturbance from Texas is expected to move northeast Towards Southern Ontario Saturday..With the centre passing by to the south of Northeastern Ontario by Sunday. This storm may bring significant amounts of snow in areas southeast of a line from Sault Ste Marie to New Liskeard beginning Saturday. A winter storm watch may be issued by early morning as a result.

Motorists should exercise caution and expect winter driving conditions due to restricted visibility in falling snow as well as accumulating snow on untreated roads.

Please refer to the latest public forecasts for more details.
